The patented system COMPREX® is a mechanical dryer (pressure
auger) for elastic plastic shreds (film or mixed plastics with a sufficient content of film). The progressive helix presses the particles through an opening controlled by hydraulic pressure flaps and thereby dries them. Subsequently they are extracted by a rotating spike.The residual humidity is about 3 %, which is sufficient for many applications. The energy consumption is much lower than for a thermal process.
